This gun is showing age and is missing ejection rod, but it appears to be all original, all components are free-moving and appears to be in working order. This original Civil War era Lefaucheux Model 1854 features a single-action trigger, 6.25" barrel, spur trigger guard and "diamond" butt with lanyard ring. Usually, the "military" or "cavalry" model was single-action and had a spur trigger guard and a "diamond" butt with lanyard ring, while the "civilian" model had a round trigger guard and a flat butt. It was widely exported during the 1860s and sold as both a military and civilian sidearm during the U.S. It is a six-shot open-framed design, which was loaded via a hinged gate on the right side of the frame, through which empty cartridges were also ejected via an ejector rod running along the barrel. Item Description: Translate description In 1854, Frenchman Eugene Lefaucheux introduced the Lefaucheux Model 1854, notable as being the first revolver to use self-contained metallic cartridges rather than loose powder, pistol ball, and percussion caps.
