With the release of Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection in 2005, both games were playable as a whole with an added unlockable "arranged" versions which allowed players to play as once unavailable characters. Darkstalkers 3 added updated English versions of both games' endings. In Vampire Savior, Vampire Savior EX and the western port called Darkstalkers 3, Vampire Savior 2 along with Vampire Hunter 2 were available as unlockables with their missing characters playable. Minor differences include health and EX/special bars colors and the font used for winning quotes. Exceptions to this rule include Lord Raptor/Zabel, whose Night Warriors color is selected with Low Kick, and Huitzil/Phobos, whose color is selected with Medium Punch. Oddly and unlike Vampire Hunter 2, Vampire Savior 2 uses Night Warriors’ ( Vampire Hunter in Japan) default color scheme for its CPU characters (selected in Vampire Savior with High Punch), while Vampire Hunter 2 uses Vampire Savior's Medium Punch color scheme. Donovan's Night Warriors stage "Revenger Rooster" is readded and recolored as well. Oboro Bishamon is now a playable character through code input on the character select screen.

Like Vampire Hunter 2, Shadow receives an addition 5 colors to his pallet and stages share the same recoloring. Marionette allows the player to fight in mirror matches throughout the game. Pre-bosses fights are no longer varied but set so the player must fight Darkstalkers' original boss, Pyron.Īlong side Shadow a new character, Marionette has been added. Character specific boss fights are now replaced with a singular boss fight against Jedah Dohma, with only Jedah himself receiving a unique ending. The primary default color schemes for CPU opponents are now the default color schemes from Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, selected by pressing High Punch. Vampire Savior 2 retains most of the cast, as the characters Jon Talbain, Rikuo and Sasquatch were removed from the roster and opening themes in order to incorporate Donovan Baine, Huitzil and Pyron.
